We love being a part of the IKC family!

I wanted to take a moment to thank you for providing my family with such a positive experience. Bennett has been attending IKC for nearly 1.5 years and he loves it. He is excited to go to class each week, doesn’t complain more than a normal 5 year old about practicing his skills at home every night after dinner, and he loves knowing that many of his actions at home would make his beloved Shihan proud. He still confuses his left from his right and certainly does not have the best skills in class, but he has the heart and enthusiasm of a black belt! I am so proud of him. What has surprised me is how much IKC has done for me. Bennett and I have both made some wonderful friends through IKC. It almost feels like seeing our “family” when we walk into the dojo, and that is a wonderful feeling. I know that my 5-year old will be looked after by not only the teachers and other parents, but also by the other students. (Tristin, Josh, and Molly have been extremely kind and encouraging, especially when Bennett’s self-confidence has been at its lowest). Even the higher kyu students in his own class help him out when he is learning something new. When I have an extremely stressful day at work, that stress usually follows me home. But when I walk into the dojo and its positive atmosphere, that stress truly melts away. I have had the privilege of participating in several classes and in addition to being great stress relievers, they were fun and challenging. I love it, and now my 2-year old daughter is starting to let us know she loves karate too. She punches and kicks her big brother’s kicking bag at home and sometimes she runs out on the mat with him when his class is lining up. We are pretty sure we have even heard her say a few numbers in Japanese! Thank you for everything. We love being a part of the IKC family!
